Lastek Special

Universal low hydrogen electrode, excellent welding characteristics

Universal low hydrogen electrode recommended for welding all metallic constructions and pipelines.

Lastek Special has exceptional welding characteristics, good wetting and smooth joints.

Easy to weld due to the special coating, yielding a very stable arc and easy striking.

Slag can easily be removed.

Recommended for root pass and welding in difficult positions thanks to the concentrated and direct arc.

Deposited metal is pure without slag inclusions, high impact value and great elongation.

Specifications & Usage

Application

Dynamically stressed constructions like: all vehicles, frames of trucks, shafts of trailers.

Reservoirs, pressure vessels and pipelines.

All heavy loaded constructions, especially cold bended profiles.

Structural steel: S185, S235 - S355 (EN 10025).

Boiler plate: P235GH, P265GH, P295GH (EN 10028-2).

Pipe steel: P235T1 - P355N (EN 10217-1); P235T2 - P355N (EN 10217-3); StE290.7TM - StE480.7TM (EN 10208-2).

API steel: X42 - X70 and fine grain steel: P275N - P460NL2 (EN10028-3).

Hull steel grade S235JRS2 - S355G3S.

Cast steel GE200 - GE260 (EN 10293).

Instructions

Use a short arc, keep the electrode at an angle of almost 90° to the work piece.

At the end of each weld, come back with the electrode on the deposit to avoid the formation of a crater.

Always use dry electrodes to obtain the highest possible mechanical characteristics.

Dry at 360 °C for minimum 1 hour.
